Gynaecological Issues

From a Chinese medical perspective
gynaecological issues are caused by disruptions
within the circulations of blood and fluids in the body

Blood and fluid accumulating in the circulations of your reproductive system and within your lower abdomen cause physical blockages which disrupt your physiological functions. These can cause various issues such as cysts, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis and even accumulate into large masses, such as fibroids.

Weakness in these same sections of circulations can cause the physiological functions of your reproductive system to perform poorly. Any and all of these, amongst others, can affect your gynaecological health and may have an impact on fertility.

With Chinese Medicine we are able to diagnose their underlying nature and once established use needles to treat the underlying pattern and stimulate the correct physiology. Helping to resolve these blockages and deficiencies will benefit you physically, mentally and emotionally, and improve fertility.

Gynaecological issues include

Cysts
Endometriosis
Fibroids
Menopausal symptoms
Menstrual disorders
Miscarriage (threatened & recurrent)
Ovulation disorders
PCOS
Pelvic inflammatory disease
PMS
Polyps
Tubal blockage

Where do the needles go?
We generally use mostly 'distal' points with some 'local' ones. 'Distal' points are on your arms and legs, generally below your elbow and knees. 'Local' points, for fertility & gynaecological issues, are mostly on your front and back around your abdomen, often just above or below your navel.

I will always discuss what points I am going to use first and make sure that you feel comfortable with these.

How much treatment do I need?
At the initial consultation we go through your medical history and any notes or test results that you have, and combine these with a Chinese medical diagnosis to develop an individual treatment plan.

Treatment is generally advised reasonably regularly, for as long as is necessary. Often every 1 to 2 weeks, but as many gynaecological issues are chronic in nature, they can take time, so it is important that we find a sustainable approach to treatment for you.
