Basal Body Temperature Charting
I may encourage the use of basal body temperature (BBT) charting. This involves you taking your temperature each morning and marking it on a chart, providing information about your metabolism and hormonal balance. I will explain your chart to you and encourage you not to interpret it yourself, as this is likely to increase stress and anxiety.

IVF & IUI
Fertility Acupuncture is hugely beneficial alongside Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatments such as IVF and IUI.
Patients tell us that they feel more relaxed and find the process much easier physically and emotionally, and research shows an increase in positive outcomes and a reduction in miscarriage rates.
Where do the needles go?
We generally use mostly 'distal' points with some 'local' ones.
'Distal' points are on your arms and legs, generally below your elbow and knees. 'Local' points, to promote fertility, are mostly on your front and back around your abdomen, often just above or below your belly button.
I will always discuss what points I am going to use first and make sure that you feel comfortable with these.
How much treatment do I need?
At the initial consultation we go through your medical history and any notes or test results that you have, and combine these with a Chinese Medicine diagnosis to develop an individual treatment plan to suit you.
Treatment is generally advised every week to two weeks for as long as is necessary. Weekly treatment is often ideal, as this allows me to work with each phase of your menstrual cycle in turn.
