Pregnancy

Acupuncture is beneficial and safe before, during and after pregnancy.

During: it can help morning sickness, bowel and urinary problems, heartburn, cramps, back pain, SPD, anxiety and swelling. It promotes good blood quality and circulation, good sleep, and reduces the chance of miscarriage.

I recommend mothers-to-be consider having treatment every week to two weeks upto 12 weeks, every four weeks during the second and third trimester and weekly from 36 weeks

Full-term: it can help induce labour, turn a breech baby or simply encourage a baby into a more favourable position. It increases blood to the muscles of the uterus whilst softening the ligaments, helps regulate contractions,
provides pain relief and can help soften and dilate the cervix.

Post-natal: it can speed up the recovery process, relieves stress and depression, improves sleep and energy levels and helps heal scar tissue.

Testimonial

‘I went to see Rick for an acupuncture treatment in desperation, after 6 weeks of terrible nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy. I did not want to resort to prescription pills and had heard good things about the effects of acupuncture on morning sickness. It worked and I would highly recommend him to anyone!’ - Ellie
